“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3.5
Dear Self,
I just don’t understand you!
How many times have you gone to a restaurant and ate the food prepared by a stranger? You trust they washed their hands and prepared the food correctly.
Countless times you have trusted drivers of semi trucks and cars to safely stay in their lanes as you pass.
You have gotten into a vehicle with a stranger and paid them to take you to your destination.
You will pay for someone to deliver your dinner without thinking if they tampered with it.
You board an airplane and fly for hours. However, you did not investigate the pilot’s credentials. You trust the airline mechanics have done their inspections and
corrections.
You will allow someone to perform a surgical procedure on your body after meeting with them twice and reading a couple of reviews.
You read labels, put the prescribed medication into your body - all the while trusting the doctor knew this medication would not interact with the other meds you take or any allergies you have.
You trust on payday, your employer will deposit your money into your account.
You don’t have a second thought about any of these things.
However, Self, I have one question… Why do you have such a hard time when it comes to trusting God, the One who supremely cares about you?
